The Current Process to Lease a Community Garden
The Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority does have a process for people to lease a plot of land for a community garden. Below are the steps to lease land from the city of Philadelphia :
1. Fill out the Tax Status and Public Disclosure and Expression of interest form, send this form via email to
[email protected] or mail to PRA, 1234 Market Street, 16th Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19147..
2. Then approval from the city after the review of both the items. Then the staff will contact you about your Maintenance Plan and Programming plan. The city wil also provide you with a copy of the City Community Garden Agreement.
3. The community garden will require acceptable insurance.
4. After completing the Community Garden Agreement for a lease of 1-3 years. Leases that are longer than 1 year will require an additional city approval and a renewal agreement.
